Waseca Area Tourism & Visitors Bureau

The purpose of this corporation shall be to engage in and conduct efforts to increase the number of tourists and visitors to Waseca through improved promotion of services, attractions and area events; to promote the Waseca area as a site for business conferences; and to develop and promote additional community attractions and special events.

This message will not have any crystal-ball proclamations about 2010, but am confident that Waseca has the right combination of volunteers to keep the community moving forward. These volunteers are present everywhere in Waseca and are not limited to any business, spiritual or community organization. Waseca is indeed very fortunate to have competent volunteers and public officials who care about our town!
This past year we have learned a lot about marketing, collaboration, and branding and just plain old communication. We have learned that there are a lot of groups who want the best for Waseca and hopefully how we can accomplish the same results together. I trust you will see some of our efforts in our ‘branding’ of Waseca by the common use of art and color, whether in the Community Guide, Visitors Guide, rack cards or any literature coming from us. We are fortunate to have artists who care about creating unique reproductions of our past and future. We are confident this is the start of creating a vision/brand of Waseca that will be recognized by anyone who sees these images. The incorporation of the ‘Discover Waseca’ logo and our unique branding gives us an image that will draw visitors to our city. This is my last quarterly note as President of the WATVB. I will be passing the gavel to incoming 2010 president Colleen Carlson. I thank the members of our committee and all of you who contributed opinions on how we can improve Waseca’s tourism.

The WATVB is comprised of volunteers representing various organizations and related businesses from the community. The WATVB responds to email requests for tourism information on Waseca by sending Waseca Visitors Guides, Coupon Books, and a new Community Guide and supports the creation of these items to support tourism in Waseca.
