What is the Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce?

It is a federation of business firms, organizations, and individuals, both large and small, dedicated to the growth, economic development and preservation of a sound business and social climate in the Waseca area.

We are a non-profit 501-C-6 mutual benefit corporation of voluntary membership that invests time and money to carry forward programs relevant to members’ needs and that affect the orderly growth and development of the community. It was chartered on April 5, 1953.

It is affiliated with the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, Chamber Federation and Grow MN.

It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors representing a wide cross section of the Waseca business community and membership.

It has a professional staff to implement the goals and priorities of the board. The Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer-driven organization. That means that volunteers can set goals, and the responsibility to them. The staff serves in an advisory capacity. You can take advantage of their experience, training, and knowledge of programming and committee work to help you achieve your committee goals. You will find that the staff are a valuable resource of “how to” “where to get” and who to see”, as well as programming ideas. Please keep in mind that staff members work with every committee and task force of the Chamber and should not be expected to do the work of the committee members. Our “Volunteers-Driven” focus is a matter of philosophy “peoplepower”.

The Chamber is responsive to the ever-changing needs of the community and the membership as expressed through the work of its committees and the decisions of the board. An informed board is an effective board, and we make every effort to stay apprised of changing needs and to adjust our priorities accordingly.

The area’s economic well-being is directly related to the caliber of work that is done through the Chamber. This is the reason Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce has a major impact on business, income and future growth of the area.  It acts as spokesperson for the business and professional community and translates into action the group thinking of its members.
