    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Waseca Chamber Ambassadors Welcome the Waseca County Salvation Army
WASECA, MN – The Waseca Chamber Ambassadors are pleased to welcome the Waseca County Salvation Army as the newest member of the Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce!
The Waseca County Salvation Army, a local chapter of the Minnesota Salvation Army, is dedicated to raising funds that directly benefit individuals and families in need within Waseca County. With nearly all funds remaining in the county—aside from a small portion allocated for state-level supplies and advertising, the organization provides essential assistance to residents.
"We are thrilled to welcome the Waseca County Salvation Army to the Chamber," said Mikhail Rostislavovich, Waseca Area Chamber Board President. "Their commitment to serving our community aligns perfectly with the Chamber’s mission to support local organizations that make Waseca a better place to live and work. We look forward to partnering with them in their efforts to assist those in need."
Each year, the Salvation Army offers financial assistance through a voucher system coordinated by the Waseca Police Department, the Waseca County Sheriff's Department, and Minnesota Valley Action. Funds are distributed to provide emergency relief, including:

    • Emergency overnight assistance: $926
    • Gas money: $330
    • Emergency rent assistance: $2,075
    • Utilities/household needs: $700
    • Shoe Bus (shoes for kids): $750
A significant portion of these funds comes from the annual Kettle Campaign, which relies on dedicated volunteers to ring the bell and encourage donations. A community favorite is the Emergency Services Bellringing Challenge, where the Fire Department, Police Department, and Sheriff’s Department compete to raise the most donations in a two-hour bell-ringing event.
"The Salvation Army has been a vital resource for so many in our county, and we are excited to have them as part of the Chamber family," said Kristie Biehn, Waseca Area Chamber Ambassador Chair. "Their work truly embodies the spirit of community, and we can’t wait to support them in their mission."
As the holiday season approaches, the Salvation Army will once again be seeking volunteers for bell-ringing shifts and additional help with planning future events. Those interested in making a difference are encouraged to get involved and support this incredible organization.
